The United States has many places witch which are as much exciting as New York.
One of the places is Chicago, Illinois, the “Windy City”.
It is considered as the biggest urban area in that area of the USA.
Some amazing old buildings with different achitecture design which were designed and built on the 19th century, can be discovered in Chicago, illinois.
Chicago also provides an excellent view of Lake Michigan which is located near the city.
Some traditional locations are placed in Chicago, Illinois such as towers, fields and cementeries.

Cemeteries in Chicago
The three most well-known traditional cemeteries in Chicago, are Oakwood, Rosehill and Graceland Cemetery.
The Oakwood Cemetery is located in the southern part of Chicago and has numerous graves of the war criminals.
Both Rosehill and Graceland are located in the northern part of Chicago.
When you visit these three cemeteries it will bring you to the history of Chicago in the past and allows you to see the traditional and historic architecture and sculptures.

How to know when is Qing Ming Festival?

The Origin of Qing Ming

The beginning of Qing Ming was based on a sad tale about a man whose name was Jie Zitui, a trustworthy servant of a Duke named  Wen. Jie was so trustworthy that when his lord  and him could hardly find any food, he cooked a meat soups made of his own upper leg. Hislord found out that Jie had sacrified his own thight for him, then he guaranteed Jie that once he should be the King, he would compensate Jie for his commitment.

Jie who do not want any compensate reconciled not long after his lord became a Duke and resided in a woodlands with his mom. The Duke searched for Jie, but he couldn´t find him so that he ordered his servants to get rid of the woodlands in order to power Jie out. Unfortunately, the flame do not only force Jie to get out of the woodlands but also killed him. Then, the distressing Duke requested the villagers not to use fire and eat only cold food for three days to honor Jie’s loss of life.

The Tradition of Qingming

Previously, people honors Qingming Day by eating cold food, but now the cultures become sweeping the ancestors’ tombs, providing food and drinks, and even precenting some expensive items like bags or/and devices on the tombs. They are used to be obtained by the passed forefathers in their region.

The other traditions are done by farm owners who put a willow branch infront of the door or entrance of their homes to wipe out the evil spirit. The last common thing done by people during the Tomb Sweeping Day is flying bright and colourful kites. Usually, people also put small lamps in the kites so that the kites will sparkle on the sky.

Despite the apparently sad history of Qingming, Chinese people globally, generally welcome the celebration of the festival as it is also an celebration of family gathering. Qingming 2012 will be a popular festival in China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia.
